Mason Jar Creations
I've always liked mason jars, perhaps it's the inner country boy in me coming out! I saw an article on Pintrest about how to transform ordinary spaghetti sauce mason jars into homemade rustic containers to hold toiletry products, rice or pasta, decorations or anything you could possibly stuff into a jar. Needless to say I've been eating a lot of spaghetti sauce and saving all my jars. I went to my local Home Depot and purchased a cabinet handle and then followed the Pintrest directions and drilled a hole in the jar's lid and affixed the handle. I used washers on the inside to ensure a snug fut and that the handle wouldn't wobble. When you sandpaper the lid of the mason jar, all the writing comes right off (in my case it was a Bertoli jar) and it gives it a nice rough silver finish. I uploaded some photos and included a regular jar in there to show the amazing contrast in the lids, they are the same exact lid just heavily sanded down.
